PART 2: THE DOCTOR WHO DID NOT HESITATE

The emergency doors swung open.
A doctor stepped forward instantly.
“Bring her here—now!”
Her voice was sharp, controlled, absolute.
Doctor Allison.
She moved fast.
No hesitation.
No wasted motion.
Her eyes scanned the child in seconds.
“On the bed!” she ordered.
“Now!”
The father nearly collapsed as he placed his daughter down.
His hands trembled violently when he let go.
Like letting go meant accepting loss.
“Please…” he whispered.
“Save her…”
Doctor Allison placed a steady hand on his shoulder.
“Sir, breathe.”
“Let us work.”
But breathing was impossible for him.
Not while watching machines being prepared.
Not while hearing urgent commands.
Then something shifted.
As she moved, her coat adjusted slightly.
And the truth became visible.
She was pregnant.
Calmly continuing her work despite carrying another life.
But no one stopped.
No one commented.
Because urgency erased everything else.
“Vitals unstable!” a nurse called.
“Start IV!”
“Prepare oxygen!”
The room transformed into controlled chaos.
Beeping monitors.
Fast movement.
Sharp commands.
Doctor Allison leaned closer to the child.
“Stay with me,” she whispered softly.
Not to the staff.
To the child.

The father stood frozen at the edge of the room.
Watching everything slip out of his control.
