PART 3: THE PRICE OF BETRAYAL

One week later, Harrison Corporation held its largest shareholder meeting of the year.

Executives, investors, and board members filled the conference hall.

David stood at the front of the room, preparing to sign a multi-million-dollar contract.

Suddenly, the doors swung open.

Everyone turned in shock.

Sarah had returned.

David froze.

“What are you doing here?”

Without answering, Sarah walked calmly to the presentation screen.

She connected a laptop.

The recovered footage began to play.

Silence filled the room.

The video clearly showed Lisa stealing Sarah’s phone.

Editing messages.

Manipulating evidence.

And carrying out her plan step by step.

Lisa’s face turned white.

“No! That’s fake!” she screamed.

But moments later, Kevin entered with a team of independent investigators.

They presented forensic reports, digital records, and technical evidence proving the footage was authentic.

The room erupted into whispers.

David stood motionless.

For the first time, he realized the terrible mistake he had made.

But the nightmare was not over.

The investigators then revealed a series of hidden financial transactions.

Bank transfers.

Fake accounts.

Missing company funds.

Everything pointed to Lisa.

She had embezzled millions of dollars and was preparing to flee the country.

Within minutes, law enforcement officers entered the room.

Lisa was placed in handcuffs before everyone’s eyes.

As she was being escorted away, she turned toward David.

“I did it because I loved you!”

David said nothing.

He simply lowered his head.

After the room emptied, only he and Sarah remained.

For a long moment, neither spoke.

Finally, David broke the silence.

“I’m sorry.”

His voice trembled.

“I should have trusted you.”

Sarah looked at the man she had once loved more than anyone in the world.

There was no hatred in her eyes.

But there was no longer the same love, either.

“Some wounds heal,” she said softly.

“But some broken trust can never be repaired.”

Then she turned and walked away.

David remained standing there, watching her disappear through the doorway.

He had finally learned the truth.

But the truth had arrived too late.

And that was the price he would pay for judging the woman he loved before listening to her side of the story.

THE END.
