Chapter 4 - The Confrontation

The climax arrived in the form of a board meeting that Ethan had called, not to discuss quarterly earnings, but to bring the Caldwell legacy to its knees. He walked into the glass-walled conference room, Lily’s hand firmly in his. His father sat at the head of the table, his face a mask of iron, flanked by lawyers who looked like vultures.

Ethan didn't speak in business jargon. He laid out the files—the medical records of Sarah’s forced institutionalization, the offshore payments to the doctors, and the fake death certificate.

"I'm not here to negotiate a buyout," Ethan said, his voice echoing against the cold glass. "I'm here to surrender my position, my shares, and my name. And then, I'm going to take everything else."

His father’s composure finally fractured. "You'll be a beggar by morning, Ethan. You don't know what you're destroying."

"I'm destroying a lie," Ethan replied.

He revealed that he had already coordinated with a federal task force. As the boardroom doors opened, agents stepped in, not for Ethan, but for his father. The empire, built on shadow and theft, was exposed in real-time. Lily watched, her expression unreadable, as the man who had ordered her life into exile was led away in handcuffs.
