Chapter 10 - Sunrise Over Greenwich

The sun rose over the Greenwich estate, bathing the rolling lawns and sparkling lake in a brilliant, golden warmth.

Inside the nursery, the four cribs were empty. Instead, four healthy, active toddlers were tumbling across a massive playmat, their joyful squeals echoing down the hallway.

Ethan stood by the tall bedroom window, holding a steaming cup of black coffee. He wore a simple cotton shirt without a tie, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows. The relentless urgency that had driven his every waking moment for years had transformed into something steady, grounded, and enduring.

Clara walked up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head against his shoulder.

“You're up early,” she murmured, her voice soft against the morning air.

“Couldn't sleep,” Ethan replied, covering her hands with his own. “Thinking about how much work we have to do today.”

Clara chuckled, looking up at him. “What project are we conquering now? Another global logistics acquisition?”

Ethan turned around, wrapping his arms securely around her, his eyes shining with quiet happiness.

“No,” Ethan said, looking down at his children playing happily across the room, and then back into the eyes of the woman who had brought his family back from the edge of the dark. “Just building a home.”

Downstairs, the grandfather clock struck eight. The house was alive with light, memory, and unconditional love. The past was no longer a ghost that haunted them; it was the foundation upon which their future was built. And for the first time in his life, Ethan Caldwell knew he had won the only negotiation that truly mattered.
