Chapter 6 - The Crown of Roses

The battle for the Moretti mansion did not last long.

Once Alejandro took the field personally, the assault turned into a complete massacre. Guided by his ruthless tactical brilliance, the Moretti security force wiped out all twenty-four mercenaries within twenty minutes.

By dawn, the rain had stopped, leaving behind a crisp, clear morning sky.

In the grand courtyard of the estate, three heavy black SUVs pulled up.

Alejandro stood on the marble steps, dressed in a pristine tailor-made suit, his dark hair slicked back perfectly. Lorenzo stood beside him, holding a golden briefcase.

Down the steps came Mama and me. I was wearing a cute yellow sundress, clutching my pink backpack, while Mama held my hand, still stunned by everything that had happened over the past week.

Dozens of high-ranking Moretti captains, lieutenants, and business partners were gathered in the courtyard. They had all been summoned for an emergency summit.

Alejandro raised his hand, and the chatter among the terrifying mob bosses instantly died down.

"Five days ago, an attempt was made on my life," Alejandro’s voice boomed across the estate. "Don Russo thought he could poison me, break my empire, and slaughter my people."

He paused, stepping down to gently place his hand on my shoulder.

"He failed. He failed because a four-year-old child had more courage, more loyalty, and more honor than half the men in this city."

The crowd of hardened criminals stared at me in awe. None of them dared to whisper a word.

"Last night, Russo sent men to take her life," Alejandro continued, his eyes turning to cold steel. "As I speak, Lorenzo's team is liquidating every single asset, every territory, and every soldier belonging to the Russo family. By noon today, the Russo name will cease to exist in this country."

A collective murmur swept through the crowd. The entire Russo empire, crushed in a single night.

Alejandro knelt down in front of me once again. Lorenzo stepped forward and opened the golden briefcase. Inside was a black leather folder embossed with the official seal of the state court, alongside a gleaming gold necklace with a tiny rose-shaped diamond pendant.

"Emma," Alejandro said gently, his voice soft enough for only me and Mama to hear. "This mansion is now officially under your name. These papers make you the sole heiress to the Moretti trust fund. When you grow up, this entire city will answer to you."

Mama gasped, her hands shaking. "Mr. Moretti... this is too much! We are just simple people—"

"You were simple people," Alejandro corrected, looking up at Mama with profound respect. "Now, you are the heart of this family."

He picked up the gold necklace and carefully fastened it around my neck. The diamond rose sparkled brightly under the morning sunlight.

"From this day forward," Alejandro announced to his entire criminal empire, standing tall and holding my tiny hand in his giant palm, "Emma Miller is the Crown Princess of the Moretti Family. Anyone who serves me, serves her. Anyone who protects her, earns my fortune. And anyone who dares try to hurt her..."

He looked out at the city skyline, his voice echoing like thunder.

"...will find out why they call me the Devil."

I looked up at the terrifying man everyone feared, tugged gently on his sleeve, and smiled.

"Thank you, Uncle Alejandro."

The ruthless boss of the underworld froze for a second, then a true, genuine smile broke across his face—a smile that no one in the city had seen in over twenty years. He picked me up, resting me safely on his shoulder, as his army of men bowed deeply to their new little ruler.
