Chapter 6 - The Lion’s Arrival

The Maybach glided smoothly up the circular stone driveway and came to a seamless stop right outside the grand entrance.

The rear door opened instantly.

A pair of impeccably polished oxblood leather shoes stepped out onto the pristine pavement, followed by the tall, commanding figure of Arthur Sterling.

Even in his late sixties, my father radiated an aura of absolute, uncontested power. Dressed in a bespoke charcoal overcoat with silver hair combed back neatly from a face carved from granite, he looked less like an aging billionaire and more like a reigning monarch inspecting his domains.

He didn't look at Adrian. He didn't look at the security guards. His dark, piercing eyes locked entirely onto me standing in the doorway.

When he saw the blood staining my blouse and the rigid, exhausted way I was holding myself, the cold, impenetrable mask of the global tycoon fractured, revealing the fierce, protective fury of a father whose only daughter had been harmed.

“Victoria,” he said softly, his voice cutting through the evening air.

He strode past the struggling guards and Adrian without a second glance, walking straight up the steps into the grand hall. He stopped right in front of me, his hands gently rising to cup my face, his warm palms contrasting sharply with the freezing winter wind.

“Look at what they did to my little girl,” he murmured, his voice trembling slightly with suppressed rage. He gently touched my bruised cheek. “Did you let them hurt you for long?”

“Only long enough to make sure they had no defense left,” I replied, managing a faint, tired smile.

Arthur turned his head slowly, casting a sideways glance down at Adrian, who was still being held upright by two security operatives.

“So,” my father said, his voice dropping an octave into a tone so icy it made the air in the room feel sub-zero. “This is the man who thought he could domesticate a Sterling with a riding crop.”

Adrian whimpered, unable to meet my father’s gaze. “Sir... Mr. Sterling... I didn't know... I swear to God, if I had known—!”

“If you had known, you would have kissed her feet instead of lifting your hand against her,” Arthur finished for him coldly. He looked back at Marcus. “Is the asset forfeiture complete?”

“Complete, sir,” Marcus reported crisply. “Vale Global is delisted. Every personal asset, offshore account, vehicle, and property owned by Adrian Vale has been frozen and seized under civil asset forfeiture laws. He is legally, socially, and financially nonexistent.”

Arthur nodded once, a gesture of absolute finality.

“Good,” my father said. “Charge him with domestic assault with a deadly weapon, financial fraud, and corporate extortion. Ensure he spends the next twenty years in a maximum-security facility where the only thing he’ll be whipping is rock in a quarry.”
