PART 2: THE BOY WHO KNEW TOO MUCH

The room remained silent.

Richard Bennett stared at Ethan.

"What is your father's name?"

Ethan took a slow breath.

"Daniel Carter."

The moment the name left his mouth, something changed.

A flicker of recognition appeared in Richard's eyes.

The mechanics noticed it immediately.

Years ago, before the company became a billion-dollar success, Daniel Carter had been one of its most talented engineers.

Brilliant.

Obsessive.

Dedicated.

The kind of engineer who would spend weeks solving a problem nobody else even noticed.

And the kind of engineer executives often found difficult.

Because Daniel refused to stay quiet when he believed something was dangerous.

Richard remembered the arguments.

The meetings.

The warnings.

Daniel had repeatedly insisted that a flaw existed in the wheelchair's braking architecture.

A flaw that might not appear during normal testing.

A flaw that could emerge years later.

Most executives dismissed his concerns.

The chair launched anyway.

Soon afterward, Daniel resigned.

Nobody heard from him again.

Until now.

Richard looked at Ethan.

"That's impossible."

"My father left this company years ago."

Ethan nodded.

"I know."

The boy slowly reached into his backpack.

Everyone watched.

Security tensed.

Instead of a weapon, Ethan pulled out a stack of worn notebooks.

The covers were faded.

The corners were damaged.

Years of use were visible on every page.

"My father kept these."

He placed them carefully on a nearby table.

The mechanics opened the first notebook.

Immediately their expressions changed.

Detailed diagrams.

Circuit designs.

Handwritten calculations.

Testing results.

Thousands of pages.

One mechanic flipped through them rapidly.

Then stopped.

His eyes widened.

"Oh my God."

"What?" another mechanic asked.

He pointed to a page.

There, dated almost nine years earlier, was a diagram of the exact braking issue Ethan had described.

The room grew quiet.

Richard felt his stomach tighten.

Daniel had found it.

Years ago.

May you like

And nobody listened.

To be continued...
