Richard Bennett sat down heavily.
For the first time in years, he felt uncomfortable.
Not because of investors.
Not because of competitors.
But because of a teenage boy standing in front of him.
One of the senior mechanics continued reading Daniel's notes.
The deeper he went, the more concerned he became.
Everything was documented.
Every warning.
Every failed test.
Every recommendation.
Daniel had practically predicted the exact malfunction they were seeing today.
The mechanic finally looked up.
"Sir..."
Richard met his gaze.
The mechanic hesitated.
Then spoke carefully.
"Daniel was right."
The words hit harder than Richard expected.
Across the room, reporters who had been invited for the product demonstration quietly exchanged glances.
Some had already started recording.
Richard knew what this meant.
If the flaw became public, the company could face lawsuits.
Recalls.
Massive financial losses.
Yet none of that seemed important at the moment.
Because he kept looking at his daughter.
If Ethan hadn't spoken up...
If she had restarted the chair...
What could have happened?
The thought made him sick.
The girl suddenly broke the silence.
"Why did you come here?"
Everyone turned toward Ethan.
The boy smiled sadly.
"My dad asked me to."
The room froze.
Richard frowned.
"I thought you said he left years ago."
Ethan nodded.
"He did."
The boy's eyes became watery.
"And he passed away last year."
A heavy silence settled over the showroom.
"My father spent the last years of his life trying to solve this problem."
"He knew nobody would listen."
"So he kept working anyway."
The boy looked at the notebooks.
"He told me that if I ever saw one of these chairs..."
His voice cracked.
"I should make sure nobody got hurt."
Several employees lowered their heads.
The mechanics looked away.
Even Richard couldn't speak.
Because at that moment he realized something painful.
The company had forgotten Daniel.
