Chapter 10 - A Legacy of Light

One year later.
The grand ballroom of Villa Moretti was filled with music, laughter, and the soft clinking of champagne glasses.
Today was a celebration of new beginnings. There were no armed standoffs, no hidden ledgers, no fear. Just family, friends, and the bright promise of tomorrow.
In the center of the ballroom, dressed in a breathtaking ivory lace wedding gown, I danced slowly in the arms of my husband. Alessandro looked dashing in his classic black tuxedo, his eyes shining with unadulterated happiness as he spun me gently across the polished marble floor.
Running around the edge of the dance floor in a tiny flower-girl dress was four-year-old Emma, her blonde curls bouncing with every step. Tucked securely under her arm, adorned with a new pink satin bow around its neck, was Mr. Bunny.
She stopped near the edge of the floor, looking up at us with a proud, gap-toothed smile.
“Mommy! Daddy!” she called out, holding up her rabbit. “Mr. Bunny says you guys look very pretty!”
The entire room chuckled warmly. Alessandro leaned down, kissing my forehead tenderly before whispering in my ear.
“She was right, you know,” he smiled.
“About what?”
May you like
“About everything.”
We held each other close, bathed in the warm golden light of the chandeliers, knowing that the shadows of the past were gone forever. Villa Moretti was no longer a fortress of fear—it was a home, filled with love, laughter, and a family that nothing in this world could ever break.
