Chapter 9 - A Second Chance at Love

Two years later.
The scent of blooming jasmine filled the air in the private garden of a vineyard estate in Napa Valley.
Soft string music played gently as fifty of our closest friends, colleagues, and family members sat in white wooden chairs under the warm afternoon sun.
I stood at the altar wearing a simple, breathtaking ivory silk gown. Opposite me stood Julian, looking sharp in a black tuxedo, his eyes glistening with tears of happiness as he held my hands in his.
"Sabrina," Julian said, his voice ringing with deep, sincere emotion as he spoke his vows. "When I met you, I saw a woman who had walked through fire and come out on the other side not burned, but forged into pure gold. You taught me what resilience truly means. I promise to love you, respect you, stand beside you, and protect your peace for every single day of our lives."
Tears of pure joy trickled down my cheeks.
"Julian," I replied, my voice steady and sweet. "You showed me that true love doesn't demand sacrifice of your dignity. It lifts you up. You gave me safety, trust, and a home where my heart could finally rest. I choose you, today and forever."
"By the power vested in me," the officiant smiled, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Julian wrapped his arms gently around my waist, lifting me slightly as he pulled me into a warm, passionate kiss. The guests broke into enthusiastic applause, cheering and throwing white rose petals into the air.
Among the crowd, Arthur Vance sat in the front row, smiling proudly like a father watching his daughter start a beautiful new chapter.
As Julian and I walked hand-in-hand down the aisle, surrounded by love and genuine happiness, I paused for a moment, resting my free hand gently on my stomach.
Underneath the fine silk of my wedding dress, a soft, small bump was just beginning to show.
Three weeks ago, Dr. Rostova had confirmed the news: I was three months pregnant with a healthy, beautiful baby girl.
Conceived naturally. Conceived in love. Conceived in peace.
Julian noticed my hand resting on my stomach, and his eyes filled with overwhelming tenderness. He reached over, placing his large, warm hand over mine, leaning down to whisper in my ear.

"How is our little princess doing?" he asked softly.
"She’s happy," I whispered back, leaning my head against his shoulder. "She knows she's coming into a world full of love."
