Chapter 7 - The Framing Blueprint

The walls continued to close in on Kenneth by the end of the first week. Discharged from the hospital with a clean bill of health but permanently branded as a social pariah, he was forced to hire a high-priced defense attorney who quickly realized the case was unwinnable.

Unable to return to our Cherry Hills home—which had been seized by the court pending asset forfeiture proceedings—Kenneth tried to reach out to me directly.

My phone buzzed with an unknown number late Saturday night. I let it go to voicemail, but the transcription popped up on my screen:

“Sabrina, please, we need to talk. You're destroying my life over a stupid mistake. It was just an affair, it didn't mean anything! And the medical thing... I was just trying to protect our marriage! Please, drop the charges, let's settle this privately before my career is completely ruined...”

I listened to the pathetic whine in his voice and deleted the message without a second thought. Protect our marriage? By sterilizing me and selling my family’s secrets?

On Sunday morning, a new piece of evidence arrived in my private email inbox, sent anonymously through a secure whistle-blower portal. It was a digital audio file labeled “Backup_Plan_Kenneth_Rollins.wav.”

Curious, I plugged in my headphones and clicked play.

The audio started with the muffled sound of fabric rustling, followed by Kenneth’s voice speaking to someone I didn't recognize—presumably one of his co-conspirators at Apex Capital.

“...If Sabrina starts asking questions about the accounts, we pivot to Plan B,” Kenneth’s voice said clearly on the recording. “We frame her for internal embezzlement. We route the unauthorized software transfers through her personal administrative login credentials. The board will believe she was trying to sabotage her father's company out of spite over our marital issues.”

He had planned to destroy me completely. If I hadn't caught them in bed together, if I hadn't swapped that lubricant with industrial glue, if I hadn't opened that safe... Kenneth would have framed me for federal crimes, stripped me of my shares, locked me out of my family’s legacy, and thrown me to the wolves.

The glue wasn't just justice for infidelity. It was the divine spark that saved my entire life.

I forwarded the audio file directly to Agent Miller and the federal prosecutor handling the case. Within two hours, an amended indictment was filed, upgrading Kenneth’s charges from simple fraud to aggravated conspiracy, corporate sabotage, and premeditated obstruction of justice.

His bail was denied. He was remanded to the Denver County Jail to await trial, sharing a concrete cellblock far away from the luxury of Cherry Hills Village.
