Chapter 9 - The Rollins Global Coup

The annual shareholders meeting of Rollins Global Enterprises was usually a formal, polite affair held in the grand ballroom of the Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver. But this year, the atmosphere was electric. Every major investor, financial journalist, and board member in the state of Colorado was in attendance.

My father sat at the center of the executive stage, looking stronger and more determined than he had in years.

When my name was announced as the newly reinstated Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chair of the Board, the entire ballroom erupted into a standing ovation.

I walked up the steps to the podium, wearing a sharp cream-colored tailored suit, my head held high. I looked out over the sea of faces—past the reporters holding up cameras, past the analysts whispering notes, and straight to the front row where Justin sat beside our father, smiling with genuine pride.

"Thank you," I began, my voice clear and steady, amplified across the grand hall. "For the past few months, Rollins Global has weathered a severe storm. We faced internal betrayal, corporate espionage, and an attempt by malicious actors to undermine the integrity of everything my family spent decades building."

I paused, letting my gaze sweep across the room.

"Some corporations try to hide their scandals behind closed doors, burying their mistakes in legal settlements and quiet resignations. We chose a different path. We brought the rot into the light, excised the infection, and emerged stronger, leaner, and more transparent than ever before."

I clicked the remote, bringing up our updated quarterly financial reports on the massive projector screen behind me.

"Not only have we fully recovered our proprietary software architecture and severed all illegal ties with Apex Capital, but our Q4 earnings projections show a thirty-five percent increase in operational efficiency, driven by the immediate restructuring of our executive leadership team."

Another wave of applause filled the room. The stock ticker at the bottom of the financial news networks flashing outside on the street instantly ticked upward.

"To those who believe that a company—or a person—can be broken by deceit and betrayal, I have only this to say," I concluded, my voice ringing with absolute power. "You may try to trap us, you may try to silence us, and you may try to steal our future. But when the glue finally dries, the truth always wins."
