Chapter 4 - The Confrontation at the Mansion and the Asset Freeze

The clock on the study wall ticked past midnight, but the adrenaline pumping through my veins kept every nerve ending sharply focused.
“Julian, pack your bags,” I commanded, turning my gaze from my mother to my younger brother.
Julian’s mouth hung open, his arrogance completely evaporated. “Pack my bags? Bro, you can’t be serious! Where am I supposed to go? This is my home too!”
“This house is registered under the Vance Family Trust, of which I am the sole managing trustee and legal settlor,” I replied coldly, pulling out my laptop and resting it on the mahogany desk. “You haven’t worked a single day in your life. Your allowance, your car lease, your designer clothes, and your penthouse apartment line of credit were all funded by the company I built. As of right now, every single one of them is terminated.”
I opened the enterprise banking portal, navigated to the corporate asset-management tab, and began executing commands with ruthless efficiency.
Authorization Code Required. Master Administrator Override. Confirm Account Freeze. Confirmed.
My phone instantly buzzed with a cascade of security notifications.
Across the screen, a dozen high-limit black cards, secondary corporate credit lines, and personal allowance accounts belonging to Eleanor and Julian were instantly stamped with a crimson digital seal: ACCOUNT FROZEN - ADMINISTRATIVE HOLD.
Julian lunged forward, grabbing the edge of the desk. “Are you insane?! My debit card just declined at the lounge! What did you do?!”
“I cut the cord, Julian,” I said without looking up from my screen. “You have thirty minutes to pack your personal belongings into a single suitcase and leave this property. If you aren't out by one o'clock, I’m having private security physically throw you into the street.”
Eleanor shrieked, slamming her fists down on the desk. “You monstrous, ungrateful son! How can you throw your own flesh and blood out into the cold for a gold-digger who doesn't even come from our social class?!”
“A gold-digger?” I laughed—a cold, humorless sound that echoed off the study walls like breaking glass. “Clara sold her family heirlooms to feed me when we had nothing. You, on the other hand, have spent thirty years living off the charity of my success while treating everyone around you like garbage. You are done.”
I closed my laptop with a definitive snap.
“By eight o’clock tomorrow morning, my attorneys will serve you both with formal eviction notices, restraining orders barring you from coming within five hundred yards of Clara or our child, and federal embezzlement audit notices.”
Julian stared at me, realizing for the first time that his gravy train had reached the end of the line. The panic in his eyes turned into a flash of desperate fury.
“You’ll regret this, Sebastian!” Julian yelled, pointing a shaking finger at my face. “Mom is right! You’re throwing away your real family for a woman who’s just using you!”
“Get out,” I said, pointing toward the front door.
Neither of them moved for a long moment, hoping against hope that my anger was a bluff. But when I reached into my pocket and dialed the private security dispatch line, Eleanor grabbed Julian’s arm. Her face was twisted into an ugly, mask-like grimace of pure venom.
“Come on, Julian,” she spat, her voice shaking with malice. “Let the ungrateful bastard rot in this house alone. He’ll come crawling back to us when she drains every penny he has.”

They stormed out of the study. Ten minutes later, the front door slammed shut with a concussive shockwave that rattled the picture frames in the hallway.
I stood alone in the center of the sprawling mansion. The silence returned—not the oppressive, hypocritical silence of before, but the clean, heavy stillness of a battlefield after the smoke has finally cleared.
