Chapter 10 - The Untamed King

Three days later, armed with the encryption keys provided by Vanessa, federal authorities and global law enforcement launched a coordinated raid on the Apex Group headquarters in London and Geneva.

Victor Vance was arrested at his private airfield as he attempted to board a jet to a non-extradition country. His assets were frozen, his corporate syndicate dismantled, and the threat to Vance Global Holdings was permanently eliminated.

The fallout was absolute. Martin, Daniel, and Eleanor received maximum prison sentences without parole. Vanessa was sentenced to ten years in a medium-security facility—a harsh punishment, but far better than the life sentence she was originally facing.

It was a crisp autumn evening when I stood on the balcony of my penthouse suite. The city sparkled beneath me like a sea of diamonds.

The door behind me opened, and Clara stepped out onto the terrace. She was holding two glasses of sparkling wine. She handed one to me.

"The board approved the final acquisition of Apex Group's remaining domestic assets this afternoon," Clara said, a proud smile gracing her lips. "Vance Global is now the largest tech and logistics conglomerate in North America."

I took a sip of the wine, feeling the cool evening breeze against my face.

"A few months ago," I reflected, looking out over the city, "they thought I was finished. They thought weakness was something you could exploit."

"They mistook your patience for paralysis, Julian," Clara said softly, stepping up beside me. "They didn't realize that a lion sitting still is just preparing to hunt."

I turned to look at her. The young maid who had knelt beside my wheelchair in a room full of enemies was now standing beside me at the peak of the mountain.

"I couldn't have done this without you, Clara," I said sincerely.

"You gave me a chance when no one else would," she replied, her brown eyes meeting mine with absolute loyalty. "We built this victory together."

I raised my glass toward the glowing skyline of the city that now belonged to me completely.

"To the future," I said.

Clara clinked her glass against mine, her smile radiating warmth and power. "To the king who rose."
