Chapter 9 - The Dawn of Transformation

In the months that followed the birth of the twins, the underground world of Chicago underwent a seismic shift.
With Don Falcone dead and his syndicate dismantled, Vincent did what no one expected: he initiated a complete dismantling of the Moretti crime empire. Using his vast wealth and international influence, he legitimized every asset, transitioning illicit enterprises into legitimate shipping logistics, real estate development, and charitable foundations.
He wiped the slate clean—for his children, and for the woman who had saved his soul.
On a warm summer evening, six months after the twins were born, the sun set in brilliant shades of orange and gold over the waters of Lake Michigan.
Isabelle stood on the sprawling wooden deck of their newly renovated lakefront home, watching the waves gentle lap against the shore. She wore an elegant white silk dress, her heart full of a peace she had never known in her entire life.
Footsteps sounded softly behind her. Vincent approached, holding two sleeping bundles in a customized double stroller. He locked the wheels and stepped up behind Isabelle, wrapping his powerful arms around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder.
"They're fast asleep," Vincent whispered, kissing her cheek. "Dr. Harrison says they are growing faster than expected. Healthy, strong, and stubborn... just like their mother."
Isabelle turned in his arms, smiling warmly as she ran her fingers through his dark hair. "They get their stubbornness from you, Vincent Moretti."
Vincent’s expression softened into a look of deep reverence. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, velvet box. Opening it, he revealed a breathtaking ring featuring a flawless blue diamond surrounded by brilliant white diamonds.
"Isabelle Stanton," Vincent said, his voice thick with emotion as he looked into her eyes. "You came into my life on a violent night when I thought I had nothing left to feel. You gave me back my life, my heart, and my family. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

Isabelle’s eyes filled with happy tears. "Yes, Vincent! A thousand times yes!"
He slipped the ring onto her finger and pulled her into a passionate, lingering kiss, the cool lake breeze wrapping around them like a promise.
