Chapter 8 - A Symphony of Tomorrow

Two years later.
The morning sun rose over Cape Cod, painting the Atlantic ocean in brilliant shades of gold, rose, and soft sky blue.
A long, beautiful wooden dock extended into the calm bay waters. At the end of the dock stood a newly built sunlit pavilion surrounded by white hydrangeas and blooming lilies.
Inside the pavilion, fifty close friends, family, and staff members sat in white chairs, clapping joyfully as music played over the gentle ocean breeze.
Six-year-old Lily, looking like a little princess in a lace flower-girl dress, walked down the aisle, carefully dropping pink rose petals from a small woven basket. In her left hand, she proudly carried her old, patched blue denim doll—now wearing a tiny matching pink bow tie that Wren had sewn for him.
Behind her came Wren, looking breathtakingly radiant in a simple, flowing white silk wedding gown that caught the ocean breeze.
Standing at the altar under a canopy of white roses stood Weston. He wore a sharp navy tuxedo, his gray eyes shining with unspeakable pride and deep, emotional tears as he watched his bride walk toward him.
Beside him, serving as his best man, was Marcus, smiling proudly.
When Wren reached the altar, Weston took her hands in his.
"You look beautiful, my love," Weston whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
"You don't look so bad yourself, Don Kade," Wren teased softly, her green eyes sparkling with happiness.
The minister smiled at the couple. "We are gathered here today to unite Weston Kade and Wren Osei in holy matrimony—a union built not on convenience, but on truth, sacrifice, and an unshakeable love that turned darkness into light."
The minister turned to Weston. "Weston, do you take Wren to be your wedded wife, to love her, honor her, and protect her, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?"
Weston looked into Wren’s eyes, his grip on her hands warm and firm. "I do. With all my heart, my soul, and my life."
"And Wren," the minister turned to her, "do you take Weston to be your wedded husband, to love him, honor him, and cherish him, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do," Wren said, her voice clear, ringing out across the warm ocean breeze.
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife," the minister declared with a wide smile. "Weston, you may kiss your bride."
Weston stepped forward, pulling Wren into his arms, kissing her deeply as the entire crowd erupted into joyful applause and cheers!
Lily ran up to the altar, jumping up and down, clutching her denim doll. "Mommy! Daddy! You're married!"
Weston broke the kiss, grinning down at his daughter. He bent down, scooping Lily up into his left arm while keeping his right arm firmly wrapped around Wren’s waist.
He looked down at Lily, then at Wren, and finally reached into his pocket, pulling out a small silver chain bearing two star pendants—Nadia’s original star, and a new, matching silver star engraved with Lily’s name.
He fastened the chain gently around Lily’s neck.
"Two stars to watch over us forever, Lily," Weston said softly, kissing her forehead.
"And Mr. Doll!" Lily added happily, holding up her patched toy.

"And Mr. Doll," Weston chuckled, hugging them both close against his heart.
The sun shone brightly over the Cape Cod bay, casting long, golden reflections across the sparkling water. The pain of yesterday was gone, buried beneath the waves of time, and in its place stood a family forged in fire, protected by truth, and bound forever by an everlasting love.
