Chapter 10 - A Real Marriage

The exact date of their original 1-year contract arrived, but the paper agreement was long forgotten, burned to ashes months ago.

Instead of a quiet, amicable divorce and a payout to disappear, the Plaza Hotel was once again filled with white orchids and crystal chandeliers—only this time, there were no mafia bosses watching with suspicion, no hidden threats, and no cold calculations.

It was a real wedding.

Harper stood before the mirror in a breathtaking new gown, her hand resting gently on her swelling stomach. The door opened, and Dominic walked in, dressed in a sharp tuxedo. He stopped in his tracks, his breath hitching as he looked at her.

“You take my breath away every single day,” he whispered, walking over to take her hands in his.

“Even when I’m nine months pregnant and can barely fit into my shoes?” Harper teased with a bright smile.

“Especially then,” Dominic replied, pressing a tender kiss to her lips. “The first time we stood here, it was an act. A transaction. A lie to fool the world.”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a brand-new platinum band, sliding it gently over her finger next to her diamond engagement ring.

“Today, there are no cameras. No contracts. No lies. Just you, me, and our child. Will you marry me for real, Harper?”

Tears of pure joy welled in Harper’s eyes as she threw her arms around his neck.

“Yes,” she whispered against his lips. “A million times, yes.”

Hand in hand, they walked out of the bridal suite and down the grand staircase toward a future filled with light, freedom, and an endless love that neither of them had ever expected to find.
