Chapter 6 - The Trap at Blackwood Point

The torrential rain poured down over Manhattan as Trevor’s sleek, armored Maybach tore down Fifth Avenue, cutting through the red lights with its emergency strobes flashing.
In the back seat, Keisha had replaced her torn maid uniform with a dark tactical jacket provided by Trevor’s private, off-the-books security commander—a former British SAS operative named Gareth, whom Trevor trusted with his life. Jonah and Paige were safely hidden away in an undisclosed underground bunker in rural Massachusetts under Gareth’s personal guard.
"Harrison believes Marcus successfully set the fire at the mansion," Trevor said, monitoring his laptop screen. "He’s currently logged into the master administrative portal at Callahan Tower, initiating the wire transfers to Aegis Global's offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands."
"If those transfers complete, the money dissolves into untraceable crypto-networks within three minutes," Keisha warned, loading a fresh magazine into her sidearm. "We need physical access to the mainframe server room on the 80th floor to abort the transfer and capture the digital encryption keys."
"We won't just abort it," Trevor said, his eyes flashing with lethal determination. "We're going to expose him to the federal authorities live."
Ten minutes later, the Maybach pulled into the underground executive garage of Callahan Tower. The building was completely dark, save for the top three floors where Harrison Vance’s personal floor light burned bright against the stormy sky.
Trevor, Keisha, and two of Trevor’s elite personal operatives bypassed the main elevators, taking the private express lift directly to the 80th floor.
The elevator doors slid open with a soft chime.
The sprawling executive floor was silent. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows offered a panoramic view of the rain-slicked Manhattan skyline.
Standing in the center of the glass-walled boardroom, surrounded by glowing computer monitors, was Harrison Vance. He was dressed in a sharp three-piece suit, a glass of expensive scotch in his hand, watching the digital progress bar on the main display screen hit 88% Complete.
When he turned and saw Trevor and Keisha walking through the glass doors, the glass of scotch slipped from his hand, shattering against the marble floor.
"Trevor..." Harrison stammered, his face turning an ashen grey. "You... Marcus said..."
"Marcus is currently zip-tied to a radiator in my guest house waiting for the FBI, Harrison," Trevor said coldly, stepping into the room with his hands in his pockets. "You chose the wrong family to cross."
Harrison’s shock quickly morphed into a desperate, feral sneer. He backed away toward his desk, reaching beneath the lip of the mahogany frame. "You don't understand, Trevor! Aegis Global isn't just a company! It's a network that controls government contracts across four continents! If I don't complete this transfer, they will kill me!"
"They won't get the chance," Keisha said, stepping forward and leveling her weapon directly at his chest. "Federal Agent Keisha Reyes. Hands where I can see them, Harrison."
May you like
Harrison froze, his eyes widening as he recognized her face. "Reyes... Brianna’s sister. You... you were the maid?"
"I was the maid who just dismantled your entire life," Keisha said coldly.
