Chapter 6 - Secrets in the Shadows

While Agent Ramirez took Mia and Buster into protective state custody at an undisclosed secure facility, the Iron Disciples MC went to work on their own investigation.
Inside the club's tech room, Sparks was hunched over four glowing monitors, his fingers flying across the keyboard.
"Guys, you’re not going to believe this," Sparks called out. Big Mike and Doc walked over, leaning over his shoulders.
"What did you find?" Mike asked.
"Arthur Vance isn't just a dirty executive—he's a predator with a trail of silenced victims," Sparks explained, pulling up encrypted legal files. "Ten years ago, he was married to a woman in Chicago. She vanished without a trace two weeks after filing for divorce citing severe physical abuse. Vance walked away with a multi-million-dollar insurance settlement because the local police department mysteriously lost key evidence."
"And Mia’s mother?" Doc asked, his jaw tight.
"Ellen Vance," Sparks brought up live feeds of Arthur’s gated estate. "I managed to bypass the home security system. Arthur has her heavily medicated and under 24/7 private security guard. She’s essentially a prisoner in her own bedroom. He’s been using her estate funds to pay off his corporate debts."
"Where is Arthur right now?" Mike demanded.
"His high-priced lawyers managed to post his temporary bail two hours ago," Sparks replied, zooming in on a GPS tracker he had quietly slapped onto Arthur’s sedan during the garage confrontation. "He’s at his estate right now. And according to his financial logs, he just transferred $200,000 to an offshore account linked to a private security firm known for illegal enforcement."
Mike’s eyes darkened. "He knows the legal system is turning against him. He’s going to erase his tracks."
"He’s going to take Ellen and flee the country," Doc realized.

Big Mike pulled his heavy leather jacket off the rack. "Not on my watch. Call the guys. Goliath, get in the truck."
Goliath, who was lying by the door waiting for Mia's return, instantly stood up, his ears pricked high.
